INSIDER'S FAVOURITE NATURAL SKIN CARE PRODUCTS
|
|
|
Many clients have contacted me asking if I use this
or that product myself and what I can recommend for
such as such skin type. Although each product listed
in the shop includes a detailed description & use
recommendation, I thought you may want to know a little
more.
This
page includes all our favourite natural skin care products.
By listing age, skin & hair profiles, you can see
what works for each skin, hair or age type.
Because the list is starting to increase beyond the
comfortable reading length, here are some quick links
to enable easy finding of insiders by age:

Care: |
I start the day with a facial wash (in
the shower) using the AFRICAN
BLACK SOAP. I find it very gentle &
non-drying and I feel really refreshed afterwards.
I apply my moisturiser, which is the FACE
CREAM with Rosehip, Jojoba & Shea Butter.
It was developed for me originally, so I
am not parting with it. EVER! My skin feels
smooth, soft & moisturised. Outbreaks?!
Once in a blue moon... Absolutely perfect!
And I find the chamomile, mandarin &
geranium scent devine - perfect to start
the day! In the evening, I only use the
FACE
TONER with Rose, Geranium & Chamomile
Water. I don't wear any make up for sensitivity
reasons, so the toner does a perfect job
in removing impurities & refreshing
my face. I apply a healthy dollop of ROSE
EYE CREAM, then follow with a moisturiser,
which is either the AFTERSHAVE
BALM (please don't laugh, I don't shave
my face, of course not, but it contains
some great oils and does an excellent job
in keeping my skin hydrated) or I sometimes
make myself other creams (part of development,
I guess) but the aftershave balm is the
one I reach most often for.

Now that's a tricky thing to do, as it
is difficult to pick. Hence a shower cubicle
full of bottles to choose from, which my
husband has to remove upon entering the
shower as they usually end up on the floor.
What is the matter with men! The bestest
ever - AFRICAN
BLACK SOAP (exotic scent) and the YLANG
& ORANGE SHOWER GEL. Followed by
VIRGIN
COCONUT OIL or VIRGIN
SHEA BUTTER all over & LAFE's
ORGANIC DEO in FRESH. In my handbag,
I always carry with me a little jar of the
CARE
JELLY - I use it for dry hands, dry
lips, minor scrapes on the children &
when I get a sore nose. I honestly, can't
do without!

Again,
a difficult thing to do as I am still searching
for the perfect shampoo. From all the bottles
I have in my cupboard which include some lovely
Aubrey Organics shampoos, the HERBAL
SHAMPOO is the one I use most often as
I cannot bear having soft & fly away hair.
The herbal shampoo leaves it clean & stylable
without having to keep brushing it off my
face every 2 minutes. And since I started
using it, I have not needed any hair spray,
which is just as well as I do not fancy spraying
plastic on my head. Once or twice a month,
I use the HAIR
& SCALP oil to condition it, usually
when my husband isn't around the house, as
I will be honest, I am not a very sexy site
- with my hair greased & wrapped, but
..... it feels great after it has been washed. |

Well, I absolutely love EVERYTHING! My
skin is oily & acne prone, so I love
the ANTIBACTERIAL
FOAMING WASH. I noticed a difference
after just one application! It visibly cleared
my face and even tightened pores! I use
it first thing in the morning & just
before I go to bed. Since I started using
the facial wash, I have not been putting
any make up because I am afraid it will
undo the good the wash has done to my skin.
I am already compiling my next order which
will definitely include the FACE
CREAM.
Because I didn't want to wear make up full
of chemicals, I found the TANNING
CREAM made my complection look very
even, it looks like I have an invisible
foundation! The tan looks a very natural
shade, not 'orange' at all (been there before...).
The cream is so moisturising and easy to
to apply, and definitely doesn't make my
skin shiny.

I try
to visit the gym every day and in my wash
bag there is now only 1 item - the AFRICAN
BLACK SOAP. I use it as a shower gel &
facial wash. Often I wash my hair with it
as well. What I love most about your products
is that I only need to use a little bit -
the shampoos & shower gels are so lathery;
a little bit goes a long way! At home I use
the YLANG
& ORANGE SHOWER GEL, which is also
great for washing my hair! Absolutely marvellous!

I wash
my hair with the DRY
HAIR SHAMPOO with Ylang-Ylang & Lime.
I also use the GERANIUM
CONDITIONER, although not at every hair
wash. I find the shampoo so moisturising that
I don't need to use anything extra as my curls
looks fantastic. |

Emma (Rossi's daughter) |
| Age: |

patches & nappy rash |
| Hair Profile: |

curls (which developed shortly after
taking this photo) |

Care: |
Emma is like her mum, she likes lotions
& potions and she gets into mummy's
cupboard, whenever she gets the chance,
usually spotting the open door to the bathroom,
like an eagle, within seconds! On numerous
occasions, Emma has been found sticking
her fingers in mummy's creams or giving
herself a face & hair conditioning treatment
with her bottom cream, with no ill effect,
of course, as we are not talking chemicals
here, are we?
Emma starts her day with a refreshing chamomily-rosy
smelling FLOWER
WASH , which not only smells nice, but
it's excellent in removing overnight crusts
around her nose. The odd dry patch of skin
on her face gets a tiny amount of virgin
shea butter.
Emma loves bubbles at night, but mummy
is not allowing dreaded MATEY or other bath
gels packed with nasties, so it is the CHAMOMILE
& LAVENDER WASH & BATH GEL for
gentle bubbles. There is usually a fight
between Emma & brother Alex as to who
will have to sponge to make the bubbles
with the BLACK
SOAP or the WASH GEL, so mummy orders
'taking turns' to restore the peace &
quiet. When bathtime is over, here comes
the lovely jar of BOTTOM
DREAMS for some rash preventing bottom
covering & a bit more on the dry patches
on her arms.
The girls at Emma's nursery really enjoy
using the VIRGIN
SHEA BUTTER as a nappy balm, because
'it smells so lovely of chamomile' &
of course prevents the nasty rash from appearing.

Emma
hates having her hair washed, but what's got
to be done's got to be done and here come
the BABY
SHAMPOO or BLACK
SOAP to the rescue - both equally delightful
in caring for her soft baby/toddler hair,
giving natural shine & encouraging healthy
hair growth. Equally suitable for the hair
of her big brother - mature age of 5! |

When I was born, my skin was very dry with
a lot of flakiness on my face, hands and
feet. The hospital told my Mummy she could
use Olive Oil on me. It worked okay but
my Mummy found the oil to be very heavy,
greasy and slow to work on me. Then she
began using Virgin
Coconut Oil on me. It was much lighter
and had a gorgeous smell. In no time, my
skin was soft and flake-free. Because my
skin is sensitive, Mummy could only bathe
me in pure water at first because even a
tiny squirt of popular baby bath products
diluted in the bath water would make my
skin react. Then she tried African
Baby Hair and Body Wash. It makes a
nice foam that Mummy likes and it is so
gentle she can even apply it directly to
my skin. Because I don't like having my
face washed with water when I have a bath,
Mummy has begun using the Baby
Flower Wash on a cotton pad every morning.
It gets my face squeaky clean with no scary
flannel so I don't yell as much. After my
face is clean, Mummy will moisturise it
with either the Virgin
Coconut Oil or the Care
Jelly.
I have only had nappy rash one time when
I was still in hospital. That happened because
the midwives put a conventional white disposable
nappy on me before we knew I had a sensitive
bottom that prefers the unbleached eco-disposable
nappies. Lucky for me, Mummy had packed
Bottom
Dream in her maternity bag. My rash
was sorted right away and I haven't had
any since because Mummy uses the gentle,
all natural Bottom
Dream all the time now instead of conventional
zinc oxide creams.

Care: |
Just like any woman, Tseta would like to
look great for her age. She gives a good
trial to nearly every product Rossi makes,
but her favourites are the REPLENISHING
FACE CREAM , the EYE
CREAM and the FACE
OIL roll on at night. She loves the
way her skin feels & looks, she is convinced
the natural skin care products are making
her look much younger! Ooopps, we make no
promises here!

Care: |
Her
favourite - the HAND
CREAM. During the development we ended
up with a huge 500 ml pot of hand cream, which
didn't have quite the right looks, so Tsetsa
volunteered to use it up as a body moisturiser.
She's tried all varieties of Palmers &
St. Yves body lotions & potions in the
past, but she swears to our hand cream being
the greatest body moisturiser. |
| Hair
Care: |
Tsetsa
loves the HERBAL
SHAMPOO, as similarly to Rossi she has
fine fly-away hair and feels the shampoo makes
her hair keep some shape without having to
use gels or mousses. |
