The driving force behind Handmade
Naturals is me, Rossi. I am a mum of two lovely
children - Alex (7) & Emma (4). For years
I believed in the benefits of alternative remedies
such as herbs, homeopathy and aromatherapy and
I would use these for myself and my children for
coughs, colds, bruises and to ease teething and
a high temperature. But I couldn't find an alternative
remedy to help my recurring dermatitis breakouts
so I had resigned myself to the familiar high
street commercial brands for skin and hair care.
An innocent research into the treatment
of my daughters cradle cap and nappy rash, when
she was just a few months old, revealed not only
what goes into baby products but also what goes
into the skin care brands used by millions of
people every day. It was a real shock to discover
the ingredients that were used in regular and
even high-end products.

After trying a number of alternative products,
which somehow didn't feel quite right for
my skin, I decided to try and make my own.
After extensive research into natural oils,
soaps & butters to help with the breakouts
I experienced for years, my first face
cream was formulated. The effects on
my skin were amazing, my 'problem' skin
was transformed into healthy, glowing complexion.
My daughter's persistent cradle cap disappeared
after washing her hair with the liquid
Black Soap for a couple of weeks, and
so did the nasty nappy rash, following only
a week of use of my special formula 'Bottom
Dream' Nappy Balm. You can understand
why I called it 'bottom dream...
This is how Handmade Naturals was born
- out of a passion for healthy skin &
body and a recognition that most high street
brands contain chemicals and additives which
are considered by many people to be potentially
very harmful.

I absolutely fell in love transforming
chunks of shea or cocoa butter and oils into smooth
& creamy moisturisers. Knowing that my products
were pure and 100% natural, and were nourishing
instead of irritating my skin, made it even more
rewarding. The brand has grown from there, really.
The original products are still around as they
proved extremely popular from the very beginning.
And I've worked really hard over the past couple
of years to develop more exciting products, listening
to all customer feedback, suggestions and recommendations,
to include nearly everything you may possibly
need to care for your body, NATURALLY!
Every single product has been tried
& tested prior to being included in the Handmade
Natural's range. Not in a lab, and DEFINITELY
NOT ON ANIMALS! The usual guinea pigs are me,
my family and close friends. All baby products
were originally developed for and used by my own
children (Emma, 4 & Alex, 7), and we still
use most of the baby products, minus the nappy
balm for obvious reasons. All ingredients are
sourced to comply with our 'natural only' standards
from suppliers who do not support animal testing,
and where possible the ingredients are organic
or at least fairly traded, too.
To meet with the current UK and EU Cosmetics
Products Regulations, all Handmade Naturals products
have passed a Safety Assessment by an independent
lab and are certified as 'toxicologically safe'.

Our retail shop opened in December 2009.
It's a cozy environment where customers
can see & try all our handmade products.
Everyone who's been through the door, says

At
Handmade Naturals, I believe there is no point
using organic or natural ingredients in skin care
products if they are then mixed with chemicals
or preservatives. A lot of research has gone and
still goes into developing my range, as well as
sourcing out brands from other suppliers, to offer
you a truly pure & natural end product.
