The driving force behind Handmade
Naturals is me, Rossi. I am a mum of two lovely
children - Alex (6) & Emma (nearly 3). I have
a background in IT, webdesign
& online marketing, to be precise. I am also
one of these women, who when something fascinates
them, they really go for it. For years I believed
in the healing powers offered by alternative remedies,
such as herbs, homeopathy and aromatherapy. I
would give my children homeopathic pills for colds
& coughs instead of over-the-counter preparations,
put chamomile oil in their bath to help with teething
or bring their temperature down, and yet I used
commercial products like Johnson's
Baby Bath, Johnson's Baby Shampoo & Sudocrem
to care for my children's skin. I myself had resigned
to the fact the only body wash for me was the
fragrance-free Simple, despite my continuing dermatitis
breakouts. I had no idea what was in these products
....
An innocent research into treating
bad cradle cap & persisting nappy rash when
my daughter was just a few months old, revealed
to me not only what goes into all the baby products,
but also in the skin care brands millions of people
buy on the highstreet.

I used to worship Clarins products, but
I wouldn't use anything like that ever again.
It was a real shock to discover
what the beloved £30-£35 pot
of cream was made of. I immediately replaced
it with some natural creams, but although
there are some lovely skin care products
out there, I just didn't feel they were
right for my skin.
After extensive research on natural oils
& butters to help my oily breakout-prone
skin, my first face
cream was formulated, and the effects
on my skin were amazing. My daughter's persistent
cradle cap disappeared after washing her
hair with the liquid
Black Soap for a couple of weeks, and
so did the nasty nappy rash, following only
a week of use of my special formula 'Bottom
Dream' Nappy Balm. You can understand
why I called it 'bottom dream...

This is how Handmade Naturals was
born - out of a passion for healthy skin &
body. I absolutely fell in love transforming chunks
of shea or cocoa butter and oils into smooth &
creamy moisturisers. Knowing that my products
were pure and 100% natural, and were nourishing
instead of irritating my skin, made it even more
rewarding. The brand has grown from there, really.
The original products are still around as they
proved extremely popular from the very beginning.
And I've worked really hard over the past couple
of years to develop more exciting products, listening
to all customer feedback, suggestions and recommendations,
to include nearly everything you may possibly
need to care for your body, NATURALLY!
Every single product in the Handmade Natural's
range has been tried & tested for reactions
and skin benefits. Not in a lab, and DEFINITELY
NOT ON ANIMALS! The usual guinea pigs are me,
my family, my close friends, my children for all
the baby products (Emma,
pictured, & Alex, 6 years old), and of
course my husband, worrying about the bags under
his eyes and the deepening wrinkles.
To meet with the current UK Cosmetics Regulations,
all Handmade Naturals products have passed a Safety
Assessment by an independent lab and are certified
as 'toxicologically safe'.

At
Handmade Naturals, I believe there is no point
using organic or natural ingredients in skin care
products if they are then mixed with chemicals
or preservatives. A lot of research has gone and
still goes into developing my range, as well as
sourcing out brands from other suppliers, to offer
you a truly pure & natural end product.
