My Natural Epiphany - How I got converted to Natural Skin Care
Up until 2010 I travelled a lot for work, all over Europe and Asia. As I had done for years and being a typical guy I carried the minimum required in the suitcase and didn’t think anything of using the same shampoos and skin moisturiser I’d used for years, despite the fact that in the meantime Rossi had started Handmade Naturals.
Then came the financial crisis, everything changed, and I started spending more time at home helping to grow the Handmade Naturals business.
As a believer in the business I began using our own products. First to be switched were my shampoo and conditioner so I started to use our Anti-Dandruff Herbal Shampoo and our Olive and Jojoba Conditioner . They did the job just fine and to be honest I didn’t think much about it, until…..
After about three months I went overseas again to see some old friends and where I stayed were a couple of the same hair products I’d been using previously, which were very familiar supermarket stocked brands advertised on TV most nights by pretty models or celebrities. Used them in the shower and I could not believe the difference !! After using our own shampoo and conditioner for a few months I was very struck by old ones, with their over-perfumed, manufactured texture, feel and smell ! It wasn’t like using, it really was using a synthetic mass produced cheap product with quite nasty artificial aromas.
That was my natural products epiphany. I really had to leave the old products for a while and then go back to them to fully appreciate how nasty they really were, and I’ve not looked back since.
After that I started to use some of the other products in our natural skin care range. Every now and again I’d get some dry areas on my face and like many people I also get dry hands especially after working in the garden or washing the car.
Our Men’s After Shave Balm and our Unscented Hand & Body Lotion sorted out both of those problems and again, the comparison with the usual high-street brands I’d been using previously was quite striking, not only from the point of view of fragrance but also absorbency and actually making the skin feel better.
Maybe more people should take the natural products challenge to appreciate the difference !
